Caring Congregation
Mission
The Lewistown
Presbyterian Church congregation is a group of caring
Christians, so generous in their giving to support our
church and special needs in the community and
beyond.
Almost $35,000
annually from our congregation is given to General
Assemblies General Mission and such causes as the Cow
Fund, Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, Lewistown Ministerium,
Shelter Service, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Abuse network,
Presbyterian Homes, The Sugar Bowl. . .
We also willingly
support such wonderful things as the Giving Tree, Souper
Bowl Sunday and the CROP Walk as well as respond to local
and national disasters.
Board of
Deacons
Our Deacons are an
important part of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church,
providing sympathy and service at times of need for
members of our own congregation and our
community.
They visit the sick
and shut-ins, provide transportation and accompany people
to appointments when necessary, send sympathy cards and
cards to cheer someone who is sick.
They also do for
others many of the same chores you would do for your
family.
Deacons deliver the
flowers from Sunday worship services to the sick and
deliver monthly contributions of food and money from the
congregation to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
Rainbow
SummerElementary school-age
children from the community participate in this all-day
Christian program under the direction of the Lumina
Center. Lewistown churches provide financial support,
facilities and enthusiastic volunteers. Rainbow Summer is
held for two weeks during the summer months.
Nursery
School/PreschoolThe Lewistown
Presbyterian Church is also the home of a Nursery School
for 3-year-olds and a Preschool for 4-year-olds during
the school year.
We are giving 68
children annually a good start in life!
We are also blessed
with a caring congregation, whose contributions help
provide scholarships for many children.
The Nursery
School/Preschool Committee oversees the operation of the
school.
Alcoholics
Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
Our doors are always
open to programs important to the Lewistown Presbyterian
Church and our community.
Welcomed many times a
week are meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics
Anonymous.
